The expansion of Kfc Italia continues, with today's opening in Palermo

46th restaurant of the chain in the peninsula and 5th in Sicily

Is opening today Kfc restaurant in Palermo, in via Notarbartolo 1. This is the 46th restaurant of the fast food chain known for fried chicken, in Italy, and the fifth in Sicily. The new store has generated 40 new jobs and is managed in franchising by Idea Food srl, the Sicilian company engaged in the catering sector for years, which already manages the Kfc restaurants of the Porte di Catania shopping center, in Piazza Spirito Santo, always in Catania, in central Sicily in Misterbianco and in the Corolla park in Milazzo.

The company founded in the United States in 1930, owns over 24,000 restaurants in over 145 countries around the world, where it generates about 800,000 jobs. In Italy since 2014, Kfc has opened in 13 regions. The Palermo office offers 170 seats distributed between the hall and the outdoor area. In the restaurant, open every day from 10 to midnight, charging points for electronic devices are available. Furthermore, the restaurant is the first of the chain in Sicily to propose the new way of ordering through the kiosks, which allow a comfortable and safe selection of the menu to be enjoyed. The choice stems from the brand's need to adapt to the new needs of distancing, but at the same time of conviviality, to guarantee consumers a meal in total safety and relaxation. Delivery services are also active on the Glovo, Deliveroo and Uber Eats platforms, and take away by the App, thanks to the new "click and collect" channel.

This is just one more step in the company's expansion plan in the peninsula. At the beginning of 2020, the CEO of Kfc Italia had announced the company forecast of 20 new openings of which 35% in shopping centers, 20% in the drive format, 30% in the city, and 15%, in the travel channel. The strategic objective was to reach regions where the company was not yet present, at the same time consolidating its presence in those where the brand already had several restaurants. "We will continue the digitization of restaurants to make the experience of our consumers increasingly in line with their habits, also as regards communication and use of the service in the point of sale. We will extend the presence in restaurants of kiosks for self ordering and we will continue to interact with our customers through the app that has already engaged an important community. We will also continue in our social responsibility initiatives especially with regard to waste reduction, with the Harvest program that allows us to recover and donate, through the regional offices of the Banco Alimentare network, the food surpluses of Kfc restaurants. But also by engaging in the reduction of single-use plastics: in October 2018 we launched an initiative on drinking straws and lids, which are no longer distributed except for take away", declared the CEO of Kfc Italia.
