The test of the vegetable patty made with Impossible Foods in St. Louis went well
Burger King says it's adding the veg burger - called Impossible Whopper - to every store in the U.S. after a test of the vegetable patty in 59 stores located in St. Louis went well. A spokesperson for Burger King says sales of the Impossible Whopper are expected to be complementary to the regular Whopper and not cannibalize existing sales.
Burger King partners with Impossible Foods - the Company established in 2011 by Pat Brown - on the program.
Impossible’s soy-and-vegetable-based burger still bleeds like the traditional beef version because of an added ingredient called heme, a molecule found in nearly all living plants and animals.
