BuyFood Toscana: Spotlight on regional food "champions"
45 selected Tuscan companies and 38 international buyers
BuyFood Toscana 2020, the regional event and Chamber of Commerce of Florence-PromoFirenze, is back with PDO, Igp and Agriqualità products of the territory. The initiative is organized by the Sistema Toscana foundation thanks to the collaboration of the municipality of Siena and the support of Assocamerestero and the Qualivita foundation. Furthermore, the contribution of "Vetrina Toscana", a project of the region and of Unioncamere Toscana, which promotes restaurants and shops that use typical local products in their kitchens, is fundamental.
The event will take place in four phases: the B2b meetings between buyers and sellers, scheduled from 28 September to 2 October, exclusively online on a dedicated platform; the inauguration and cooking shows that will take place between Santa Maria della Scala and Palazzo Pubblico in Siena, broadcast in live streaming respectively on 29 and 30 September; the educational tour for the sector press that will take journalists to visit factories and discover the production processes scheduled for 1 and 2 October.
More specifically, the B2b meetings will see the presence of 45 Tuscan companies selected by the region and 38 international buyers selected by PromoFirenze. The participants of the educational tour, will witness the processing of the Tuscan pecorino Dop, will discover the secrets of the finocchiona IGP, the cinta Senese Dop and the tuscan ham Dop. They will visit a company of typical Sienese sweets such as the ricciarelli di Siena, the first Italian dessert protected for our country. Finally, before leaving, they will taste the Chianti Classico Dop and Toscano Igp extra virgin olive oils in an oil mill in Chianti.
Five categories of products that the manufacturing companies will bring to BuyFood Toscana 2020: "cheeses, milk and derivatives", "extra virgin olive oil", "breads, sweets and flours", "vegetable products", "cured meats and fresh meats ".
