Cth of the Ferrero Group acquires Fox's Biscuits
It will incorporate two manufacturing plants in Kirkham and Batley, UK
Cth, a Belgian holding affiliated with the Ferrero group, announced a definitive agreement under which it will acquire the Fox's and private label biscuits business, including some important historical customers, from Northern food grocery group Limited (Nfgg ), a subsidiary of Boparan Holdings Limited, based in the United Kingdom.
The business that is the subject of the sale generated a turnover of approximately 157 million pounds in the last 12 months. The acquisition is just another step towards the Ferrero subsidiary's goal, which intends to increase its importance in the biscuit category, and has already made two previous acquisitions of Delacre and Kelsen Group. As part of today's transaction, Cth will acquire two manufacturing facilities in Kirkham and Batley.
Northern food grocery group Limited, based in the UK, produces Fox's and Rocky biscuit brands, as well as other well-loved and prestigious brands. The company has a history in the UK biscuit market dating back to 1853, with a very strong heritage and brand awareness among consumers, as well as strong positions in every segment of the biscuit category.
Completion of the transaction, subject to the release of legal authorizations and customary closing conditions, is expected in the coming months.
