Cariplo Factory and BacktoWork support startups in crowdfunding

Advice, training and preparatory services for raising capital

The partnership between Cariplo Factory, the innovation hub created by the Cariplo foundation in 2016, and BacktoWork, an equity crowdfunding platform, is underway to support startups during the process of raising capital by private and professional investors. BacktoWork, a company owned by Intesa Sanpaolo, favors investment in startups, SMEs and real estate projects and to date, has supported over 200 companies that have raised more than 40 million euros.

The partnership will see Cariplo Factory support the startups that will initiate the capital raising process with BacktoWork. Specifically, the innovation hub will make its know-how available to startups for an assessment on the business plan and the value proposition, supporting them in the pre-campaign phase also through specific services ranging from legal advice to marketing. Subsequently, during the capital raising phase, the two companies will continue to support startups to maximize the results of the equity crowdfunding campaign. Webinars and events will be organized to introduce equity crowdfunding to the network of companies, professionals and startups; some spaces will be made available to the equity crowdfunding platform at the operational headquarters, approximately 3 thousand square meters inside the ex Ansaldo in Milan.

BacktoWork, on the other hand, will promote the "Open Innovation" programs developed by the innovation hup in synergy with partner companies, an additional opportunity available to the network startups. “As is well known, the success of an equity crowdfunding campaign depends not only on the startup project, but also on how the company is able to present itself to the market. A project, however exceptional, will remain in the shadows if it is not able to convey all the elements necessary to convince investors”, said Edoardo Reggiani, head of business development of the platform. "This important collaboration fits organically into our innovation model, also integrating financial support for startups through the dynamics of equity crowdfunding", added Riccardo Porro, chief operating officer of Cariplo Factory. "Our experience as cultural mediators active in the field of innovation has allowed us to fully understand the dynamics of startups: for this reason, through the advisory activities that we will make available to them, we think we can effectively support them in a moment as crucial to their growth as that of raising capital. The partnership arises from exactly this premise: we are convinced that startups will benefit from this support both in terms of service / product development and in terms of investor readiness, in view of the subsequent rounds. investment".
