$ 26 million to increase production at a Wright Brand facility
Tyson Foods has announced a $ 26 million investment to increase bacon production at Wright Brand's Vernon, Texas facility. The expansion project, which is expected to be completed by March this year, will create 32 new employees, bringing the plant's workforce to more than 800.
The Wright brand has reportedly increased production volume by 29% since 2017. The expansion was designed to meet the current growing demand for the product and should ensure further growth for the company.
"We are delighted to be able to continue to build on the heritage of this iconic and delicious brand, which we are very proud of", said Noelle O'Mara , president of the ready-to-eat group for Tyson Foods. "We have had a strong presence in Vernon for nearly 100 years as one of the largest employers. It is an honor to continue this long-standing history by offering new jobs to the local community". Last year, Tyson Foods announced it had invested $ 27 million in the technology renovation of its convenience food manufacturing site in Caseyville, Illinois.
