Iwse acquires Wine Intelligence
The range of data on the beverage world expands
Iwse, a global provider of beverage industry data, has acquired the wine market research firm Wine Intelligence, founded in 2002 by Lulie and Richard Halstead and present in more than 35 markets around the world. Iwse, reports the Drinks International website, said that the combined offering will provide the industry with a solid insight into consumption trends, consumer behavior and growth opportunities for the global spirits industry.
“As Covid-19 reshapes consumer behavior and when to drink alcohol”, said Iwsr CEO Mark Meek , “industry stakeholders seek a deeper understanding of consumer attitudes driving the market. Our vision is shaped by our customers and this acquisition is a huge opportunity for us to expand our existing offerings and work with the Wine Intelligence team to provide the industry with access to a comprehensive view of consumers across all categories of the the beverage sector, including beer, wine, spirits and the ready-to-drink sector".
The acquisition follows a ten-year affair between Iwsr and Wine Intelligence. Recent collaborations include the Iwsr Covid-19 Consumer Tracker, a series of reports that tracks the ongoing impact of the pandemic on alcohol consumption and attitudes over an 18-month period.
