Cds (caps) takes over the Polish company Viki Plast
The acquired company is the European leader in mineral water dispenser closures
Cds Srl, a Piacenza-based company among the main European producers of closures for the beverage industry, has acquired 100% of the capital of the Polish company Viki Plast Sa, the European leader in closures for mineral water dispensers. Cds, founded in 1977, employs around 200 employees in 5 factories, 2 of which in Italy, and operates with 75 highly automated production lines, with a production volume of over 12 billion closures per year. In 2019 the group achieved revenues of Euro 70 million, with Ebitda of Euro 15 million, and is the market leader in all the countries where it has production facilities (Italy, Spain, Czech Republic and Poland), serving the main local bottlers of mineral water and soft drinks, as well as multinational companies in the sector.
The acquisition of Viki Plast is part of the international growth strategy of the Emilian group controlled by the Delfanti family, which began in 2013 with the acquisition of Viroplastic Sa, operating in the Czech Republic, and continued in 2017 with the acquisition of Manufacturas Inplast Sa, leader market in Spain. In this strategy, Cds is supported by Idea Taste of Italy, the first European private equity fund dedicated to the food sector (managed by DeA Capital Alternative Funds SGR Spa), which has a 35% stake in Cds.
Scouting Capital Advisors Spa, through the company Scouting Corporate Finance, assisted Cds in the crossborder acquisition operation, with a team led by Managing Partner Giuseppe Mario Sartorio. Viki Plast Sa was advised by Excalibur Capital sp. z.o.o as financial advisor, with a team led by Pawel Pawlowski.
