Co-founder and current CEO moves to Tripadvisor advisory board

TheFork co-founder and CEO Bertrand Jelensperger has announced his intention to move to the Tripadvisor advisory board starting from April 1, 2021.

Tripadvisor and TheFork have announced a key management shift. TheFork co-founder and CEO Bertrand Jelensperger has announced his intention to move to the advisory board of Tripadvisor, starting April 1, 2021.
In this role, Bertrand will join Tripadvisor CEO and co-founder Stephen Kaufer to help contribute to TheFork's growth and business strategy. With this change of leadership, Almir Ambeskovic was appointed CEO of TheFork. In this role, he will be responsible for defining TheFork's corporate strategy and will lead the brand's global operations in the 22 markets in the world in which it operates.

Prior to this appointment, Ambeskovic was vice president of sales and marketing of TheFork, in which he was responsible for the growth of the business of the 22 countries in which TheFork operates. Prior to that, from 2015 onwards, Almir led several TheFork markets as general manager. His career at the company began in 2014 as a country manager for Italy following the acquisition by Tripadvisor of RestOpolis, the online restaurant booking start-up he has founded and led since 2011.
Born in Sarajevo in 1977, he began his career as a consultant and entrepreneur in the IT sector. As a serial startupper he founded 3 companies, and then worked as the top manager of TheFork. In addition to his entrepreneurial activity, he has always accompanied a work of evangelization on innovation, conceiving and conducting a TV program on the subject in 2012 and holding the role of vice president of the young entrepreneurs group of Assolombarda, with the delegation to startups for six years until 2016.
