Lactalis, Giovanni Pomella is the new Italian General Manager
He will supervise all the companies of the group: Parmalat, Galbani and Nuova Castelli
The Lactalis group has appointed Giovanni Pomella as general manager of the group's companies in Italy (Parmalat, Galbani and Nuova Castelli). Pomella, a graduate in Economics and Commerce from Bocconi University in Milan, has been with Parmalat since 2000, with growing responsibilities, first in the Administration and Finance department, then in the Operations department, then assuming the role of General Manager of Parmalat BU Italy. He was also CEO and then president of Centrale del Latte di Roma. Before joining Parmalat he gained experience in Olivetti, Finscambi Holding, Sanofi Italia. He was also general manager of Fendi Profumi and Florbath.
The manager said that "to give continuity in the generation of value for Italy, through the development of its dairy products, not only in Italy but also abroad, combined with an increasingly intense dialogue with the numerous communities in which we are present, it represents an indispensable path for our company. The goal is to be able to establish ourselves not only as a market leader but also as a subject responsible for one's role in civil society, making a growing contribution to sustainability in all its components: social , nutritional, environmental and economic ".
For the French group, Italy is the second most important market, with a turnover of over 8 billion euros, around 5,000 employees, 30 factories in ten regions and 2 centers of excellence in Research & Development.
