Sagea Group lands in Greece
Partnership with Magma-Agro brings to 7 European countries where the company is present
The international presence of Sagea Group, the Italian group active in research, development and registration services for innovative products and solutions for agriculture, is strengthened. The company has signed a strategic partnership with Magma-Agro, the leading test center in Greece. After Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania, Sagea Group thus expands its territorial coverage and continues, with Greece, the expansion in the area of south-eastern Europe. The Group is now present in seven countries including Italy. International development kicked off in 2014 with the arrival in Serbia, where it is the only recognized private test center in the country. In just a few years, branches opened in Bulgaria (2016), Spain (2017) and Portugal (2018). To these are added the six Italian experimental stations, including that of Castagnito d'Alba, in Piedmont, where the Group's headquarters are also located.
"With this partnership we further expand our support for agricultural research", said Davide Ferrari , director of Sagea Group. "From Portugal to Greece, we now cover a truly wide variety of climatic and environmental conditions for field trials and a range of services up to the registration of products. We are ready to take up the challenge of an increasingly competitive European market conditioned in the near future by the Farm to Fork strategy developed by the European Commission”, concluded Ferrari.
Magma-Agro was accredited in 2012 by the Greek authorities to perform field tests according to good experimental practices (Bps / Gep). Since 2014, it has set up two experimental stations that allow tests to be carried out in the north and south of Greece. Subsequently, in 2016 it obtained accreditation to perform residue studies according to good laboratory practices (Bpl / Glp). The two-year period 2018-19 saw a significant expansion of Magma which gave way to numerous international collaborations for the development in Greece of plant protection products and innovative solutions for the defense of agricultural crops. Finally, it has opened a research and development branch in Crete and has created close links with the academic world for the research of innovative products and technologies in agriculture and respectful of the agro-ecosystem.
