Ricehouse: capital increase and new shareholders

Boost Heroes, Impact Hub, Riso Gallo and JPDecaux join the shareholders

The startup and benefit company transforms waste deriving from rice processing into natural materials for green building.

Ricehouse, a startup and benefit company that transforms waste deriving from rice processing into natural materials for green building, has recently concluded a capital increase of 600 thousand euros with the entry of new partners into the company structure. The injection of new capital will allow the startup to develop new projects and achieve the set goals: 3 million in turnover for 2021, which is equivalent to 10 times the turnover in 2020, in addition to expansion into new foreign markets. The first round of investment was signed, among others, by three major investors: Boost Heroes (Gruppo B Holding), a venture capital company focused on investments in startups with a high economic impact on the company, Impact Hub, a certified incubator of Innovative startups, impact Hub (Avanzi Etica Sicaf EuVeca spa), the venture capital fund promoted by Avanzi srl and Etica Sgr to support companies with a social impact.

Riso Gallo also took part in the capital increase, one of the leaders in the rice market in Italy which, precisely with the startup, shares the intention of enhancing waste from the production chain. In addition, there is a pool of private investors, including the French entrepreneur Jean-Sébastien Decaux, shareholder of JCDecaux Holding and JCDecaux SA, and the investment clubs Angels4Impact and Angels4Women. All investors are convinced of the company's potential in a sector, that of green building, with a high rate of growth in our country and abroad. Founded in 2016 by Tiziana Monterisi (architect specializing in bio-ecological architecture) and Alessio Colombo (geologist), Ricehouse is also a benefit company that, in addition to its economic objectives, aims to have a positive impact on society, promoting change responsible. It offers an integrated and complete service, ranging from the design to the development of new 100% natural building materials (suitable for the 110% super bonus), up to consultancy for companies that want to use natural products as raw materials.

In a few years of activity, the startup, which has collaborations with important companies such as Terna and IgpDecaux, has already won several prestigious awards, including B Heroes 2020 in the GreenTech category and, following this, participation in the path Elite at the Italian Stock Exchange, the Repower 2019 special award, the selection for the Gaetano Marzotto 2019 award among the winning startups of an acceleration path Impact Hub Acceleration, the CasaClima Startup Awards 2018, as well as the 2018 sustainable development award for the "Sustainable Building". Finally, in 2019 Ricehouse filed two European patents.
