Dolciaria Borsari: formalized acquisition of La Torinese
There are therefore officially 8 brands of the Group, several of which are historical brands
Andrea Muzzi, CEO of the Borsari Group, said he was satisfied after the Court of Turin gave the green light to the acquisition by IDB (Industria Dolciaria Borsari), of the historic brand La Torinese (from whose ovens leavened for recurrence, like his Pandorato and Piemunteis). In reality, it is the mere formalization of a financial operation launched in 2018 and already completed, which however "always represents an important goal for the life of the company and of all related industries - emphasizes Muzzi , pastry chef as well as an enlightened entrepreneur, and CEO of IDB-. Our commitment to affirm traditional Italian products in the world is only at the beginning. With the entry of La Torinese, the Group will count 8 brands, 3 production plants and we are sure it will be the best example of aggregation of brands and companies in the national confectionery sector".
An aggregation of brands that starts from that Antica Pasticceria Muzzi that was born in Foligno in 1795. To this were added Borsari ("class" 1903, Verona), Tommaso Muzzi, Giovanni Cova & C (class 1905), Scar Pier , Torronificio Bedetti (born in 1912, Falconara Marittima), Golfetti, and precisely La Torinese (born in 1932, Turin).
Today IDB boasts a turnover of 50 million euros, and including seasonal workers, it employs over 500 people in the three production plants of Falconara, Turin and Badia Polesine, and in its points of sale. "The situation generated by the pandemic did not help, but we were able to react in a very professional and cohesive way", concluded the CEO. After the acquisition, all the activities and 40 employees of La Torinese are guaranteed.
A curiosity: it is the work of the pastry chef Ruggiero Carli of the Pasticceria Emporio Borsari of Badia Polesine, the best panettone in the world 2020, according to what was decreed by the judges of the International Federation of Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate (see EFA News).
