Lo Conte (ingredients) increasingly "Giusto"
The acquisition of the brand marks the entry and development of the Group in the pharmaceutical channel
The Lo Conte Group, operating in the market of special flours and ingredients for sweet and savory products with the brands Le Farine Magiche, Decorì and Molino Vigevano, acquires the Giusto brand from Giuliani Farmaceutici. The Giusto line of products for special nutrition arises from Giuliani's centenary experience in the pharmaceutical and gastrointestinal fields and from an intense collaboration with the leading experts in the sector. "It is the perfect example of the fruitful meeting of two cultures: scientific and food. Giuliani has condensed, on the one hand, the scientific rigor in the food sector and, on the other, all the goodness and taste of carefully selected ingredients, fruit of an in-depth knowledge of food", says a press release.
"The Lo Conte Group is a great family history made of tradition, integrity and innovation: 4 generations of farmers before industrialists, with family-owned land on which we experiment with new and ancient concepts of raw materials", declares Antonio Lo Conte, president of the group. “We try to be different in everything: we have a research center of over one thousand square meters technologically advanced dedicated to research and we were the first player to innovate the segment of special flours for specific uses. Today, like yesterday, I am convinced that this acquisition is certainly a challenging and at the same time challenging strategic choice. A choice that will confirm the sustainable growth that our Group has always had in its DNA, also in the special food market, both as ingredients and as finished products with the highest quality and safety for the consumer”, concludes the Group's president.
"The acquisition is an important step in the multichannel growth of the Lo Conte Group in the pharmaceutical sector: in fact, Giuliani is present on 10,000 pharmacies and a collaboration agreement will allow us to have control of it with the Giusto brand", says Christian Ciccone, director of Farmafood Srl , a company of the Group that will manage the project. “A long-term choice that will see the launch of a line of innovative functional supplements between now and 2022. The nutraceuticals and supplements market in Italy is worth over 3 billion euros, with a constant and progressive growth trend. An important market - 10 times larger than the flour market - that we want to conquer and oversee. A new research and development team is already active on this project with the aim of creating new lines of supplements for various diseases and new functional foods”, concludes the administrator. The operational headquarters of the new company is in Lombardy in a state-of-the-art plant created to be the group's headquarters.
