Aromas: Ambienta conquers the English TasteConnection
The company is a leader in the production of flavorings and aromatic substances for the food sector, especially for snacks and salty foods
Ambienta Sgr, a European private equity fund focused on sustainability, through the subsidiary Nactarome (in the portfolio of the Ambienta III fund) has acquired 100% of TasteConnection, one of the leading English producers of innovative aromatic solutions for the food sector. Founded in 2002 with headquarters in Alderley (Gloucestershire), TasteConnection is a leading company in the production of innovative flavors and aromatic substances for the food sector, especially for snacks and savory foods.
The British company has a strong presence in the potato chips and ready meals markets and among its customers it counts over 70 of the largest British manufacturers of snacks and food brands, as well as numerous other British niche brands.
TasteConnection will further strengthen the Nactarome brand, a group born in January 2020 after the acquisition of the French Nactis Flavors (see EFA News article of 15/1/2020 ) and the contextual aggregation of the Italian AromataGroup, controlled since November 2018 by Ambienta and Parma. Ipam, leader in the breading segment, which Aromata has controlled since 2019. Thanks to Taste Connection and its competitive positioning on the English market, Nactarome will in fact become the reference partner for local food companies. The aromatic solutions developed by TasteConnection, in fact, are complementary to those of Nactarome and will allow the Group to create unique and innovative solutions.
With this acquisition, Nactarome Group further consolidates its position as the European mid-market leader in the field of colors, flavors and natural ingredients. Thanks to the support of Ambienta, Nactarome has in fact quadrupled its revenues in two and a half years, bringing them above 120 million euros, expanded its production presence with a total of 12 specialized plants in Italy, United Kingdom, France and Belgium and developed a base diversified of more than 4,200 customers in more than 100 countries.
