Thistle raises $10.3 million in the series B funding round
The organic food company aims to expand its customer base in 2021
Thistle, the San Francisco-based meal delivery service, raised $ 10.3 million during a Series B funding round led by PowerPlant Ventures. The latter was joined by Siddhi Capital, Alumni Ventures Group and the controlling arm of Rich Products Corporation. With the investment, the modern, technological, organic food and nutrition company aims to expand its market position and customer base in 2021.

"The pandemic has led us to face many challenges within the food system, and has highlighted a greater awareness of the vital role that diet plays in an individual's health. Cheryian continued: "With this funding, we will be able to support even more people with scientific and evidence-based nutrition principles that lead to optimal wellbeing, enjoyable nutrition and a healthier planet". The funding will also be used to develop new customer offerings, including a free virtual consultation with Thistle's dietician, to provide guidance to consumers on how to best achieve wellness goals. "Following a plant-friendly diet is the most effective way to reduce the carbon footprint, climate change, pollution, resource consumption and species extinction", said Dan Gluck , managing partner of PowerPlant Ventures. "Consumer demand for plant-based foods now exceeds the total increase in demand for food and this trend is expected to increase over the next decade as more people realize that eating more plants is a vital component of health. in the long term both of the planet and of the population".
