Uk. Omsco appoints Arla Foods Chief Financial Officer as CEO

David Williams will officially take office in early April

Omsco, a UK-based organic dairy co-operative, has appointed David Williams, chief financial officer of Arla Foods, who will officially take office in early April, as CEO. Williams has more than 25 years of experience in the dairy industry. He has held a number of senior financial roles at Arla Foods and is currently the global finance manager of the cooperative based in Denmark. Prior to joining Arla, he was financial and strategic director for another UK dairy co-operative, Milk Link, for seven years, of which he was previously CFO.

Neil Kennedy, president of Omsco, which is based in Somerset in the west of England, said: "He has demonstrated leadership skills which are complemented by his deep knowledge of the dairy sector and significant experience working with leading dairy companies. His operational experience makes David the ideal figure to lead the company, which is entering a second phase of growth and development". As new CEO of Omsco, David will oversee and drive the business development forward.

Williams added: "Omsco has made good progress. The challenge now is to build on this solid foundation and create ever more valuable and sustainable outlets for organic milk, a challenge that I am incredibly excited to accept". Following Williams' appointment, Richard Hampton, currently CEO of Omsco, will focus on business and business development, reporting to the new CEO.
