Fabiana Marchini , from Cremona, born in 1974, has been appointed head of sustainability at Sanpellegrino, a leading company in the mineral water and non-alcoholic drinks sector, part of the Nestlé Group. The manager, with twenty years of experience in the mineral water sector, is responsible for a task force created to accelerate Sanpellegrino's journey for a more sustainable future. Marchini, who joined the Group in September 2001 as brand manager, has held roles of increasing responsibility until becoming a national account manager. In this role, she followed the Take Home channel managing negotiations with the major players in the large-scale retail trade until 2014 when she was appointed head of Ccsd department, a cross-channel function dedicated to the development of category strategies and market & shopper intelligence.

CEO Stefano Marini has chosen Marchini to lead a new team dedicated to sustainability with a specific focus on water resources, production, packaging and transport. "Sanpellegrino pursues a company policy aimed at creating shared value for its consumers, for the communities in which it operates and for our planet by developing industrial plans and allocating investments that favor sustainable growth, and by carrying out projects that aim to safeguard and enhance In fact, the group protects water through high-profile collaborations, guarantees its sustainable use in its factories and by its suppliers, educating local communities to use it efficiently", says a press release.

The company works upstream and downstream of the supply chain to reduce the environmental impact in packaging, reducing the weight of packaging and using recycled material; it also implements plans for the efficiency of production systems with the use of 100% of electricity from renewable sources in its plants. Sustainability is also a fundamental driver on the logistics front: 41% of the group's water travels by rail, ultralight trailers or innovative LNG-powered vehicles which in the last four years have led to a 15% decrease in carbon dioxide emitted, per liter of water transported.
