Vinitaly: 54th edition postponed to 2022
VeronaFiere confirms OperaWine in June
Veronafiere postpones the 54th edition of Vinitaly, the international exhibition of wines and spirits, scheduled from 10 to 13 April next year to 2022. "The permanent uncertainties on the national and foreign scenario and the protracted bans have induced us to definitively reschedule the 54th edition of the exhibition in 2022 - said Maurizio Danese, president of Veronafiere SpA -. It is a choice of responsibility, albeit painful; a further forced arrest that deprives Italian wine of its reference event for national and international promotion. Waiting for the scenario to return favorable - Danese concludes - Vinitaly continues to work jointly with all the protagonists, including institutional ones, in the sector, starting with the ministry of Agricultural Policies and Ice-Agency as well as all associations and categories, to continue to support the competitiveness of made in Italy wine both on the domestic market and on countries already projected to recovery, the USA, China and Russia in the first place", says one note released today.
With this in mind, the ceo of Veronafiere Giovanni Mantovani continues: "We confirm OperaWine with the presence of Wine Spectator and the top companies in the sector identified by the American magazine for the 10th anniversary of the initiative, which remains scheduled for June 19 and 20. next in Verona. The event, all declined to restart the sector thanks to the participation of the press and national and international operators, will also act as a collector and driving force for all the wine companies that want to participate in a b2b calendar that Veronafiere is already preparing".
OperaWine will be preceded, again in June, by the Vinitaly Design international packaging competition (11 June) and by Vinitaly 5 Stars Wine The book (16-18 June). While the Vinitaly international Academy (21-24 June) will close the summer events in attendance. Among the novelties there is also an exceptional promotional event with a strong institutional push in next October and which will lead the sector to the 54th edition of Vinitaly in 2022. Giovanni Mantovani continues: "This is Vinitaly-special edition, a strictly b2b event that will mark the recovery of national and international commercial relations in presence in Verona from 16 to 18 October".
Waiting for the resumption of physical events in our country, Vinitaly continues with a presence on international markets, starting from Russia with stops in Moscow and St. Petersburg scheduled from 23 to 25 March. From 3 to 6 April it will be the turn of Vinitaly Chengdu and then in June of Wine to Asia (Shenzhen, 8-10 June). And it will be China again to open Vinitaly's autumn foreign calendar with the road show (13-17 September) before moving to Brazil for Wine South America (22-24 September). Veronafiere also makes its know-how available to carry out further promotional events in other target markets for the sector.
The decision to move Vinitaly was shared with the organizations and associations of the wine and agricultural sector.
