It is called Vinitaly Special Edition and the event conceived by Veronafiere after the cancellation of the 54th edition of Vinitaly is scheduled in Verona from 17 to 19 October 2021. "A b2b appointment in the presence and safe - explain the organizers - designed and strategically positioned as the point of arrival of the first commercial initiatives abroad starting from 3 April in China, and then restarting with enthusiasm towards the 54th Vinitaly, from 10 to April 13, 2022". The initiative, presented today in the presence of Minister Patuanelli, Undersecretary Di Stefano and ICE President Ferro, was positively welcomed by Federvini

"In these conditions Vinitaly and Veronafiere could not do more and will have our full support - declares the president Sandro Boscaini - but it must be taken into account that having skipped two editions of the traditional reference event for the sector, together with the containment measures of the pandemic that brought the Ho.Re.Ca. sector to its knees throughout Europe with an incredible series of partial and syncopated openings and closings, they determine dramatic prospects for wine companies, the flagship of Made in Italy in the world".

A note explains that a drop in revenues is expected for Italian wine through the Horeca channel of over 1.5 billion euros in the two-year period 2020 - 2021 compared to 2019, a collapse only minimally offset by the increase in sales through other channels. Added to this are the travel and meeting difficulties with international operators, the various aid measures that foreign governments are setting up (and which in the medium term will be a further threat to competitive equilibrium), the uncertainties related to the next harvest season. In Europe the trade fair system is lacking in everyone, but in Italy this absence weighs much more for the methods that over time had allowed to combine, with a perfect calendar, the general business of the sector and the specific company, the international markets and the market national.

Vinitaly represents an event of enormous importance, it must return and must return stronger than before with the involvement of the institutions, starting with ICE but not only, and with initiatives and programs for research, support and promotion of Italian wine in the world.

"System intervention is needed, for which we draw the Government's attention to the use of NextGenerationEu funds to support businesses, to simplify legislation and to support the Ho.Re.Ca. sector, a fundamental pillar of the style of Italian life, recognized and appreciated all over the world”, concludes Boscaini.
