Euricom (Curtiriso) buys Müller’s Mühle

The group is strengthening its presence in Germany and expanding its operations in the beans sector

Euricom, an international company controlled by the Sempio family and one of Europe’s leading suppliers of rice, legumes, and other grain-based products, announced today that it has entered into binding agreements to acquire 100% of the shares of Müller’s Mühle from GoodMills Deutschland, part of the GoodMills Group, one of Europe’s largest milling groups. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Müller’s Mühle brings Euricom a significant range of expertise in Germany: a team of specialists covering all key channels (retail, foodservice, and the food industry), maintaining long-standing relationships with German customers, and operating a large production facility in Gelsenkirchen along with a leading brand.

The Müller's Mühle brand, founded in 1920, has been offering German consumers legumes, rice, and other grains, including red lentils, beluga lentils, and basmati rice, for generations. The brand will enrich Euricom’s portfolio, which includes other major brands such as Curtiriso and Flora in Italy, Sonko in Poland, and Ebly in France.

As a company statement explains, “the acquisition strengthens Euricom’s presence in the beans sector, a category with long-term structural growth potential across Europe, driven by consumer demand for plant-based proteins, healthy and affordable nutrition, and more sustainable diets.”

“We are delighted,” adds Bruno Sempio, president of Euricom, “to welcome Müller’s Mühle and its team to the Euricom family. The company offers us what we were missing in Germany: an established team, a competitive facility, and a brand well-known to generations of German consumers. It expands our offering of legumes, a product we strongly believe in, and adds a modern production facility for legume-based ingredients that will help our industrial customers move toward increasingly plant-based formulations.”

Gunnar Steffek, Executive Director of GoodMills Group, adds: “Euricom is the new owner and ideal partner for Müller’s Mühle. The recognition of our brands, the experience of our team, and Euricom’s strong market presence create added value for both Müller’s Mühle’s brands and our customers.”

The transaction is subject to the usual regulatory approvals in accordance with applicable laws and is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Until the regulatory procedures are finalized, Müller’s Mühle and Euricom will continue to operate as independent companies.
