Lendlease, the new Spark Food District in Milano Santa Giulia
The marketing of over 2,000 square meters of restaurant space has started
Lendlease, an international real estate group specializing in the regeneration of urban areas, has started the marketing of over 2,000 square meters of restaurant spaces at the foot of the Spark One and Spark Two buildings in Milan Santa Giulia, where one of the major Business Districts is under construction of Milan and Italy. The new food district, located on the ground floor of the buildings under construction, consists of a total of 10 commercial premises, used as trendy coffee bars and restaurants, with flexible sizes from 80 to 300 square meters to meet every need for service and product mix and will open by spring 2022.
Located in a strategic position in the center of the Milan Santa Giulia Business District, which already houses the Italian headquarters of Sky, the Spark Food District caters to a potential attraction of over 10,000 inhabitants within a 15-minute walk radius, for community of residents, workers and commuters of Rogoredo, Milano Santa Giulia and the new district of Merezzate. The Food District is based on four main drivers: sustainability, efficiency, connection and community. The Grade A certified project, Leed Platinum, Well Gold, develops in line with the latest trends in the restaurant sector that emerged following the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw a remodeling of the spaces in favor of external development to promote sociability and integration with the surrounding area and public functions. The design solutions provide flexibility in the functions of the common spaces to adapt to the growing needs of smartworking, great attention to the healthiness of the environments thanks to internal air control and cleaning systems and touchless technologies. Each room is equipped with an outdoor area, opening windows and seats that overlook green areas connecting the buildings and the surrounding public space, a distinctive element of the design.
Fabrizio Zichichi, head of retail and project lead of Milano Santa Giulia for Lendlease, said: "We are convinced that the launch of the Spark Food District represents a central element and a great opportunity to create a new district with a lively, dynamic and green. Our goal is to make Santa Giulia a new centrality for the metropolitan city of Milan, a place not only to work but also to live and visit in your free time: a point of aggregation and socialization for the entire community, built around principles of sustainability and innovation in terms of design, construction and functional solutions which is therefore configured as a district of the Milan of the future ". Starting from the end of 2021, the Spark buildings will house Saipem's new headquarters and the marketing of Spark Two's 6,000 m2 office space still available on the market is currently being completed.
