From the legends of the 1700s that attributed the authorship of chili to the inhabitants of the Canary Islands, to the "Chili Queens" who in the 80s served the well-known dish in the military square of San Antonio to sell it to soldiers and cowboys (source Texas Monthly), up to arrive to 1977, the date on which the Texas legislature declared it to all intents and purposes the official state dish. These are some of the stages that have marked the history of chili, the spicy dish par excellence that is celebrated as every year on the occasion of the "National Chili Day". "The pound still remains one of the most famous dishes of American cuisine and is right to be celebrated with a special day to remember its importance - said Roveda -.
The “made in the USA” dish also caught the attention of the Obama family, who, as reported by ABC News, created an original chili-based recipe consisting of onions, green peppers, meat stew and red wine. And again, he stole the show on television thanks to the interest of numerous celebrities: from Adam Richman, presenter of Man vs Food who had the opportunity to taste chili while participating in the Firebrand Chili Challenge, to Ed Helms, actor of the franchise "Una The hangover ", who posted a photo on Instagram in which she cooked a pot of chili for the whole family, up to Britney Spears, who admitted to the microphones of People magazine that her favorite dish is the Chili Hot Dog. Also on a musical level, references are not lacking: just think of the song "The Chili Sauce", belonging to the Ice Cream Castles album by The Time group, and the song "Down in Mexico" by The Coasters group where the drinks are even more hot chili sauce Even Elvis Presley in his “You are the Boss” couldn't help but say “Oh Yeah” when chili sauce is used in the kitchen.
