Sol d'Oro International Competition: there is time until 11 June

The delivery deadline for Evoo oil samples then expires

There is time until 11 June for the delivery of the samples that will participate in the 19th edition of the Sol d'Oro International Competition (Veronafiere, 16/21 June). The olive oil competition dedicated exclusively to Evoo oil (Extra virgin olive oil), confirms its leadership on the international scene thanks to its unique formula: tastings in blind tasting mode; jury composed of international panelists led by Marino Giorgetti, panel leader since its first edition in 2002; creation of information sheets of the winning oils dedicated to buyers and translated into Chinese, Japanese, English and Italian.

Born with the aim of giving value to the best extra virgin olive oils, Sol d'oro has five categories in competition: Extra virgin (Light, Medium and Intense Fruity), Monovarietal, Organic. Italian and foreign extra virgin olive oils produced and marketed by companies and mills that demonstrate that they produce a minimum quantity of 1,500 liters, or equivalent production, for each oil sent are allowed. For those who produce and sell Evoo oil in a quantity from 500 to 1,499 liters, the Absolute Beginners category is dedicated. The medal-winning oils and those awarded with a Great Mention can bear the words "International Sol d'Oro Northern Hemisphere 2020 Competition" on the label with different colors and wordings depending on the award awarded (Sol d'Oro - Sol d'Argento - Sol di Bronzo - Sol d'Oro - “Great Mention”).

The results will be announced at the end of the competition, while on the second day of Evoo Days (5/6 July), the network for training and updating the sector, a guided tasting dedicated to sector journalists and forum participants is scheduled. The award ceremony will be held during the Sol & Agrifood Special Edition (17/19 October 2021).

The Sol d'Oro International Competition is the first of three 2021 events organized by Veronafiere in preparation for the 26th edition of Sol & Agrifood, Exhibition of the Quality Agro-food Exhibition, scheduled in Verona from 10 to 13 April 2022.
