Qatar is preparing to welcome again tourists from all over the world and the Qntc (Qatar National Tourism Council) is working closely with the Ministry of Public Health and the entire hospitality sector to ensure a safe environment for all visitors and guests. In May 2020, Qatar introduced the "Qatar Clean" program, a multi-stage and comprehensive initiative that ensures compliance with strict hygiene and cleanliness standards in all hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions in the country. Furthermore, with a view to strengthening and improving its tourist offer, Qatar is committed to opening many restaurants by 2022, further increasing the possibilities of choice in the area.

The capital Doha boasts over 3,000 restaurants that attract tens of thousands of customers every day and an array of gourmet restaurants, including over 15 run by Michelin-starred chefs, including Nobu at The Four Seasons Hotel Doha and Hakkasan at The St Regis Doha. Qntc wants to offer the world an overview of its ever-expanding gastronomic offer through a new series of online videos featuring some of the country's most renowned chefs, including chef Filippo Alberto from La Spiga restaurant and chef Justin Yu from Cut by Wolfgang Puck. The 9-episode series, “Chefs of Qatar”, features some of the country's leading cooking experts as they prepare one of their signature dishes, often inspired by Qatari culture and cuisine, taking viewers on a journey behind the scenes of the restaurants they run.

Available for viewing on Visit Qatar, the episodes feature the creation of dishes including ribs, Machboos, Toban Yaki and Taj Barreh. The series features the following nine restaurants and their chefs: Timur Fazilov of Morimoto preparing the Toban Yaki, Justin Yu preparing the ribs, Filippo Alberto preparing the tuna steak and the vegetable caponata, Pino Lavarra from Al Messila, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, who prepares the Madrouba, Matthias Stuber of the Sharq Village & Spa, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, who prepares the marinated shoulder of lamb, Ali del Parisa, who prepares the Taj Barreh, Noor Al Mazroei , which prepares Machboos, Damien Leroux from Idam, who prepares a date soufflé, Noof Al Marri from Desert Rose Café, who prepares Machboos.
