Other signs of detente between the Jewish world and the Arab countries, at least those gathered in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Kosher Arabia, the joint-venture between Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC) and CCL Holdings, thanks to the opening of a state-of-the-art catering facility in Dubai, has become one of the first registered and certified producers for the production of kosher food in the UAE.

Thanks to innovative and customized solutions, the jv will offer fresh and quality kosher dishes to customers operating in the aviation, hospitality and events sectors (including "Dubai Expo 2020") within the Gulf region. The company started operations with a dedicated team of 20 professionals from the gastronomy sector, carefully trained in the preparation of these dishes.

Thanks to the dedicated facilities located at Dubai World Central (DWC), the production plant is equipped with the latest technologies in the sector and is able to prepare over 2000 meals a day. The firm also rigorously applies all measures aimed both at protecting the health and safety of the employees who work there, and at guaranteeing the highest hygiene and quality standards in food production.

Over the past few years, kosher food has become increasingly popular globally. It is considered a healthy and genuine solution both in terms of the ingredients used and the way in which the dishes are prepared. Precisely for these reasons, EKFC expects the demand for this type of food to grow rapidly in the United Arab Emirates and throughout the region.

The jv is certified by the Kashrut Division of the Orthodox Union (OU) which continues to work in synergy with the South African Union of Orthodox Synagogues (UOS) in order to provide the highest standards regarding kosher certification. Furthermore, in order to use the best ingredients, the company makes use of certified suppliers. Every single phase of the raw material procurement process is carefully controlled in order to guarantee the maintenance of the cold chain and the highest hygiene standards.
