Heineken: Two New Members Join the Italian Management Team

Giuseppe Mele appointed Supply Chain Director, Paul Schalekamp appointed to lead Partesa

Heineken Italy announces two additions to its Management Team: Giuseppe Mele has been appointed Supply Chain Director, while Paul Schalekamp has become CEO of Partesa, Italy's leading company in sales, distribution, consulting, and training services for the Ho.Re.Ca. channel. These appointments are part of the ongoing evolution of Heineken's operations in Italy and demonstrate the Group's commitment to strengthening an increasingly agile and forward-looking organization, capable of supporting business growth, creating value along the supply chain, and responding to the transformations of the beer and out-of-home markets.

"We are delighted to welcome Giuseppe Mele and Paul Schalekamp to their new roles," said Alexander Koch , CEO of Heineken Italia. "Their in-depth knowledge of the company, combined with their experience in diverse contexts and their ability to lead complex transformations, represent important assets for addressing the challenges of the coming years. We are confident that their contribution will be crucial to further strengthening our organization, accelerating our transformation, and supporting the growth of Heineken Italia and Partesa, with an increasingly market- and customer-focused, future-oriented approach."

In his new role, Giuseppe Mele will lead the evolution of Heineken Italia's supply chain, aiming to innovate its culture and working methods, strengthening integration between the various functions and the ability to create value throughout the supply chain.

Having joined the Heineken Group in 2002, Mele boasts over twenty years of experience, built through roles of increasing responsibility in Italy and, in recent years, abroad. After his experience as Brewery Manager at the Comun Nuovo brewery, he joined Partesa, where he contributed to defining the commercial strategy and subsequently led the company's supply chain transformation. Since 2023, he has been Supply Chain Manager at Heineken Switzerland, where he has spearheaded the development of an increasingly resilient, integrated, and forward-looking organization.

"Taking on this role represents a significant responsibility for me. With over twenty years of experience at the Heineken Group, I am enthusiastic about this new journey to help build an increasingly integrated, agile, and forward-looking supply chain. Together with our people, we will continue to foster collaboration, expertise, and the ability to create value throughout the entire supply chain," comments Giuseppe Mele .

Paul Schalekamp has taken over the leadership of Partesa, tasked with continuing the company's transformation, supporting its growth, and further strengthening its competitiveness in the Ho.Re.Ca. market.
Schalekamp began his career within the Heineken Group in 2007, gaining experience in the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, and Jamaica. Throughout his career, he has held senior roles both at Partesa, contributing to improving customer profitability and strengthening internal control systems, and at Heineken Italy, where he played a key role in the turnaround project, leading Strategic Business Controlling and Supply Chain Finance.

His in-depth knowledge of the company and the Group will be crucial in guiding Partesa's new transformation phase, which includes, for example, the Partesa Prima! project, a new operational and commercial model introduced at the beginning of the year to make the organization more agile, integrated, and customer-focused, simplify processes, strengthen execution quality, and create value across the entire supply chain.

“It's a great pleasure for me to return to Partesa and Italy at such an important time for the company. Partesa has a unique history and a pioneering spirit that have made it a point of reference in the market over the years. Today we have the opportunity to build the next chapter of this story, continuing to innovate and evolve our model to be ever closer to customers and create value along the entire supply chain. Our mission of 'designing the future of Ho.Re.Ca.' remains our guide: we will do so with responsibility, ambition, and together with our people,” comments Paul Schalekamp .
