VéGé Group and Metro Italia allied for AFH market
Away From Home is worth around 85 billion euros
VéGé Group and Metro Italia announced this morning in Milan that they have formed an alliance focused on the Italian market away from home - AFH - consumption consisting of over 320,000 points of consumption - restaurants, pizzerias, bars, takeaways, ice cream shops, pastry shops, discos, etc. - which represent 34.3% of total food consumption, with a value of 84.3 billion euros in 2018. Thanks to the agreement, VéGé has gained a presence in all regions of Italy, with all retail formats and a renewed strength in the away from home sector.

In the last two months of 2019 VéGé had completed the entry between the member companies of two other companies: the Bennet Group and Multicash. 2020 thus opens for the group with a team that has risen to 35 leading companies, with a consumer turnover, estimated at the end of 2020, of around 10.9 billion euros, generated by a multi-channel and multi-sign sales network of 3,528 businesses .
Metro Italia boasts a network of 49 points of sale in 16 Italian regions, a warehouse entirely dedicated to Food Service Distribution, 4,100 people and a large and deep professional assortment of over 30,000 Food and Non Food. In the fiscal year 2018/19 it generated sales of 1.73 billion euros, with growth on the Horeca of 1.4% over the previous year.
