Venture Capital: Synergo's first fund

Closing with deposits of 30 million

Food & agri-tech is also among the macro sectors of interest.

Synergo Capital SGR, independent Private Equity and Venture Capital operator, concluded the first closing of the Sinergia Venture Fund, with Euro 30 million subscribed by private investors, sponsors & advisors and managers of the Fund. The new fund, Synergo's first dedicated to VC, is focused on investments in innovative technological startups and scaleups, in the pre-Series A and Series A phases, which already generate revenues and are based on "scalable" business models both as target geographies and as a revenue stream, preferably in the b2b or b2e environment.

The technologies of greatest interest are: TCP / IP Application Layer, AI, IoT, Robotics, Blockchain, VR / AR. The main macro-sectors of interest are: food & agri-tech, digital media, e-commerce, fashion-tech, alternative mobility, smart retailing, med-tech.

The Fund was conceived by Simone Cremonini and Giacomo Picchetto who, as partners of Synergo Capital and managers of the Fund, bring to SGR and to the Fund's target companies a significant mix of skills gained in over 40 years combined of experience in investment banking, hedge-fund management, executive management in media companies, technology, digital & telecommunications sectors.

The Fund can count on a parterre of leading initial investors (Sponsors & Advisors), made up of entrepreneurs, managers and professionals of successful companies including Urbano Cairo (RCS MediaGroup, Cairo Communication), Marco Casiraghi (ENGECO), Giuseppe Falco (BCG), Pasquale Forte (Eldor Corporation), Stefano Simontacchi (Bonelli Erede with Lombardi), Salvatore Vicari (VVA, Bocconi University).

The Fund is a closed-end and reserved AIF with a duration of 10 years and a hard-cap of Euro 150.0 million. As required by current Italian tax legislation, investors who meet certain requirements could benefit from tax deductions for investments in start-ups and / or innovative SMEs. In the course of 2020, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the Fund team worked on approx. 100 potential investment opportunities allowing you to select a potential target already at the First Closing of the Fund and whose investment should be completed in a very short time.
