Eurochocolate 2021 is staged in an indoor version

The event temporarily leaves Perugia towards the Umbriafiere exhibition center

A year of transition, 2021, which will see Eurochocolate transferred from the historic center of Perugia to the Umbriafiere exhibition center, pending its return to the Umbrian capital next year. The choice, presented to the Umbria region and the municipality of Perugia, stems from the need to stage an edition in full compliance with the safety protocols envisaged for the exhibition sector, whose restart is already set for next July 1st. Thus, for the first time in its history, Eurochocolate comes out of the historic center of Perugia, which in any case will host a symbolic episode in Piazza IV Novembre.

“During this last year", declares Eugenio Guarducci president of Eurochocolat, "many of us have contributed to the huge increase in canned food. Every time I opened a can of tuna, cereal soup or tomato puree, I wondered why the world of chocolate had never made a convinced use of this type of packaging, highly sustainable and conceptually very interesting. So we tried to fill some boxes of various shapes with different types of chocolate and we realized that the result was so interesting that it was then combined with an exclamation that needs no explanation".

The functional Umbriafiere exhibition center in Bastia Umbra, perfectly barycentric between Perugia and Assisi, will therefore perform the task of accompanying the event in this transitional year, waiting, as mentioned, for the next 2022 when Eurochocolate will return to Perugia with a double edition. The first from 7 to 10 April, close to Easter, with a Eurochocolate "A step of the egg", while from 14 to 23 October the traditional ten days will be held with the usual format that has made the event famous throughout the world.

The three pavilions of Umbriafiere will host as many thematic areas characterized by important scenographies: Chocolate Experience, Chocolate Show and Funny Chocolate. Didactics, entertainment, guided tastings, games, workshops for children, entertainment and a large chocolate market will accompany the visit of the chocolovers who will be able to access the event in an orderly manner thanks to the development of an access control service that will also leverage ticketing (by reservation, starting from the next few days, and on site during the event) accompanied by various gifts.
