Chef Massimo Bottura in Lima for the opening of "Casa de Todos"

The goal is to donate 250,000 meals a year

The full pandemic, chef Massimo Bottura, owner of the Osteria Francescana in Modena with three Michelin stars, lands in Peru. Not a pleasure trip but for the opening of a canteen in Lima. Neither the health crisis, nor the cold winter of the South American state, managed to stop Bottura's cultural project "Food for Soul".

The initiative has already started with the ambrosian refrettorio in Milan, the felix refrettorio in London, the gastromotive refectory in Rio De Janeiro, the paris refectory in the French capital to which the 3 social tables in Bologna, Modena and Naples must be added. Now it's up to Lima and the new canteen will be called "Casa de Todos". A place in which to provide not only for the support of people in difficulty, but also for their reintegration into society.

In the last 24 hours, Peru recorded 6,600 more infections than the previous day, and is among the 10 countries that worry most about the Covid-19 emergency.

"Our partners in Peru, 3 Gatos and Beneficencia de Lima have collaborated to create the refectory Lima at Casa de Todos, a home for the whole community. Like the other refectories in the world, Lima will also be a place full of beauty capable to give hope to those living in conditions of social vulnerability. Collaborating with a fantastic team of architects and artists we have created a space in full respect of the environment and cultural traditions of Peru. Every day the team in the kitchen will prepare delicious and sustainable meals , making sure that no resources are wasted. There are only a few weeks left, then finally Lima will become part of our big family, "said Bottura.

The Lima project aims to donate 250,000 meals a year. To achieve it, chef Bottura and the director of the future refrettorio have launched the "Dollar for Hope" solidarity campaign, a way to allow anyone who wishes to contribute to the initiative.

"The first step is to make a donation on our site. Step 2, take a selfie with a flower, our symbol of hope. Step 3, post your photo on Instagram and name someone, tagging 3 people who made us flourish '. Also tag Food for Soul on social channels, follow the Lima refectory on Instagram and Facebook and remember to use the hashtags: #onedollar #onehope #hopeforlima ”, explained Bottura.
