Looking for innovative solutions in food retail
Barilla, a global producer of pasta, and Lavazza, one of the international leaders in the production and marketing of coffee, have joined forces with the aim of innovating the relationship between brands and distributors in the food sector through innovative digital services. On the occasion of joining the Lugano research and development pole, Lifestyle-Tech Competence Center, the two companies launched, in partnership with Accenture, Microsoft, Loomish and Ubs, a special Open Innovation initiative.The Award is an invitation to collaborate with all those international ICT scale-ups that offer innovative b2b and b2b2c services, focusing on two particular areas: the development of innovative multi-channel experiences and services for the end customer in the food retail sector; the digital evolution of the brand / retailer relationship through the exchange of data both online and offline.
Igor Nuzzi, regional director Switzerland & Italy Lavazza said: “For Lavazza, innovation has always been one of the fundamental guiding values, as demonstrated by our history and our ability to face the challenges of the present. We believe that innovation must be, today more than ever, also at the center of the relationship between the food industry and distribution: these two players, in fact, must be able to evolve in the face of an increasingly multi-channel shopper. It is also thanks to innovative projects such as the one created together with the LTCC that we will be able to better read the new customer journey, so as to increase loyalty to the brand and the brand, in a joint effort that brings value to all the main players. of the supply chain".
Luca Ravazzoni, Barilla eCommerce director, considers joining the FoodTech as an opportunity. Opportunity that will allow confrontation with large companies on issues of developing the value of brands, understanding the needs of people and the development of assets capable of enhancing relationships with commercial partners by expanding their value as well as for the end customer. Michele Raballo, managing director eCommerce lead Accenture shares the same values as the Lifestyle-Tech Competence Center and confirms: "As founding members of the Lifestyle-Tech Competence Center, we believe in co-creating innovation with corporate and scale partners up. Our role within this initiative will be to support in the evaluation of the applications and offer our skills and capabilities in making successful the implementation of the selected projects together with national and international retail clients".
The deadline for applications is set for May 16, 2021 and the selected finalists will be invited to make a presentation in front of a prestigious jury made up of senior managers from Barilla, Lavazza, Accenture, Microsoft and Ubs, as well as various executives from the main international supermarket chains . The final presentation is scheduled for June 15, 2021 in Lugano. The Lifestyle-Tech Competence Center research center provides large groups in the food, fashion, design and travel sectors with research and development services. The scouting provider of this project on behalf of the Lifestyle-Tech Competence Center is Loomish, a Swiss consulting company with strong experience and a wide track record in the field of open innovation.
